Harbour Sailing Club

The mission of the Harbour Sailing Club is to bring the joys of sailing to our community. We love all things sailing and specialize in programs for the youth of our community. Our classes are held at the Queen's Harbour Marina. Our fleet of boats include five Optis which are 8 feet long, and three Bauers which are 10 feet long.

We have 8 weeks of after school sailing instruction in the spring and fall with classes for young beginning sailors and classes for more advanced sailors. The following skills are taught during these classes: sailing terminology, knot tying, on water sailing instruction, and good fun.

We also offer programs and events for adults.

We have summer camps where the focus is on fun on the water. The activities include sailing, kayaking, and swimming.

Our staff ensures the safety and support the skill development of each youth sailor. We are always interested in experienced young and older adults with sailing experience to join us as coaches and assistants.

We encourage our more experienced sailors to participate in local inter-club regattas in the spring and fall.

On the weekend before Halloween, the Harbour Sailing Club and the Queen's Harbour Yacht Club sponsor the Trick or Treat Regatta. Children in costumes and parents are taken in sail boats and power boats to anchored boats and given candy along with a lot of fun.

Harbour Sailing Club sponsors a Golf Tournament and Dinner at the Queen's Harbour Country Club in the fall. It is a lot of fun, and there are good prizes for the lucky winners. The date will be publicized in the Anchor and on our website.
